Carbon Cartridges

The primary functions of activated carbon are the removal of chlorine, volatile organic compounds (VOCs), chlorinated hydrocarbons and organic impurities whilst acting as a mechanical filter for particulate reduction due to the cartridge construction.

Standard applications, although carbon is used for many bespoke purposes, are numerous and as the adsorption capabilities and capacities are explored further, the employment of activated carbon is increasing.

ACC-3 cartridges are designed such that where water flows from bottom to top ensures a long contact time, allowing for maximum adsorption and treatment. KDF utilizing redox reactions, kills or inhibits bacteria growth, converts chlorine to chlorides and removes iron, hydrogen sulphide and heavy metals (lead, arsenic, etc.). Used in combination with activated carbon, KDF can significantly extend the life of filter cartridges. Non-woven polypropylene creates a barrier that prevents filtration media from being washed out. Aquafilter offers FCCBKDF cartridges (FCCBKDF5, FCCBKDF-STO, FCCBKDF, FCCBKDF-L, FCCBKDF10BB and FCBKDF20BB) suitable for POU (Point of Use) and POE (Points of Entry) installations. Through an accurate combination of granular activated carbon (GAC) with KDF® media, FCCBKDF series improves the bad taste and odour of your drinking water by reducing the concentration of chlorine, organic compounds (VOC’s) and heavy metals (e.g. lead, arsenic, cadmium, mercury).
